Lewarne Barristers

Peter Lewarne

Peter Lewarne has practiced family law and commercial litigation for over 20 years and in that time has advocated for individuals and closely held corporations. His view of the legal process is that it is incumbent upon him to seek to get to the heart of a problem and, in so doing, to assist his clients in avoiding expensive "dead-ends". He has done so in virtually every case he has handled and, he has done so, to the benefit of his clients.

Peter Lewarne has written and lectured on litigation and has consulted in position papers to seek to improve the existing family law system. His view is that parts of that system are cumbersome and overly expensive to his clients. He has sought to obtain efficiency in the process. His academic efforts are respected by the profession and by the judiciary.

But above all, Peter Lewarne is an effective and efficient advocate for his clients in seeking to fulfill their needs and goals and those of their families within the context of their budgetary restraints.

Peter Lewarne serves his home community of Markham, Unionville and its surroundings. He was educated at the University of Toronto and, after learning his craft in the downtown core of Toronto, established his practice in Markham in 1990. His practice takes him as far east as Peterborough and as far west as Brampton.

Donna Hoevelmann - Lewarne Barristers relies heavily upon organization of each client's file so that each aspect of the litigation process, including scheduling, is readily accessible. She is in charge of that organization.

Donna has been a litigation law clerk for many years. She manages the calendar of appointments, the bundling of the material that Mr. Lewarne needs to take with him to Court and the organization of raw data for Family Litigation by way of Financial Statements.

Donnna has an easy polite manner and prides herself on punctual responses to the client, the "Court ready" state of each client file and the accuracy of the documents that she prepares for the client and submission to Mr. Lewarne.
